    • Under Chessbase this means: Engine -> New UCI engine -> Browse -> RebelUCI.exe
    • Under ChessPartner do: Extra -> Engine Import Wizard -> Winboard engines -> Install -> ProDeo.exe
    • Under ARENA do: Engines -> New Engine -> UCI -> RebelUCI.exe
  • ARENA is freeware and can be downloaded here.
What's all the fuss about?
  • Analyze PGN is a tool to extract valuable information from a PGN engine-engine (or auto232) output file provided the PGN output is created by ChessBase or Arena. More…

  • YATS is a good way to test chess programs, more YATS is an excellent way to test changes programmers make to their chess engine. More…

  • Added EOC support. It's now possible to use EOC databases as a source to guide the opening and middle game or to use an EOC database as a supplementary or independent opening book. Separately you can download a bigger EOC book of 3.5 million positions, approximately 31Mb. In case you have Rebel 12 you can use the giant 600Mb EOC opening book of over 55 million positions.

  • Club Player is a special option, just like an average club player Pro Deo so now and then will make a serious mistake, so the engine is beatable.

    Q3 - Tactical Engine is an extremely fast solver, it solves 7 of the 11 Nolut positions within 3 minutes.
Author Note
This new version does not contain any new strength improvement so if you are only interested in strength keep the old 1.2 version and don't upgrade. Version 1.4 is about new features only, tools for aspirant (and maybe even for experienced chess programmers) to improve their testing methods. It's a collection of old REBEL analysis tools I ported to Windows.
